The city of Malaga nestled in the heart of the Costa del Sol is reputed to have the best all round climate of any city in Europe. Indeed winter temperatures rarely fall much below 10 degrees centigrade at night and the daytime temperatures are usually 8-10 degrees warmer than those in the UK. Most of the low cost airlines operate at Malaga airport, so low cost flights are usually available outside the warm summer months.

Malaga is a vibrant city largely untainted by the coastal development of much of the Costa del Sol. The old town area of Malaga is a Mecca for those searching for a typically Spanish nightlife where Tapas Bars, Flamenco Bars and Latino Nightclubs attract the locals and visitors alike. The local sherry of Malaga is sold in most of the bars, but be careful as the fortified wine is very strong.

If you are flying to Malaga Airport, there are regular trains and buses to the city centre. For car hire Malaga many rental companies operate directly at Malaga airport.

The best thing about visiting a historic city is that you get to relish the rich architectural, cultural, artistic and culinary diversity without straying too far from the conveniences of a modern lifestyle. Visiting the Spanish city of Malaga is one such place where you can have one foot in another time while have another firmly at rest in the 21st century.

Nestled on the southern coastal Mediterranean shores of the Iberian peninsula, Malaga enjoys a sub-tropical climate with mild winters in the months of January no lower than 11°C to 15°C and comfortable summers with August as the hottest month at balmy 26°C to 32°C with minimal precipitation.

This makes visiting the city an all year-round welcome and as the 6th largest Spanish City sprawled over a 152.5 square mile area, it makes sense to have a chauffeured car hire once you’re in the city proper the better for you and your family to cover as much of its magnificent historic landmarks and attractions without the hassles of a public commute.

Get into the Thick of Sports

It’s not only Madrid that offers football events. There’s the Malaga CF club that plays in the Premera Division and a women’s football club, the Club Atletica Malga that plays in the Superliga Femenina. There’s also the CB Malaga basketball club that plays in the SuperLiga ACB and the Spanish SuperCup.

The city has large sports facilities like the Estadio de Atletismo Ciudad de Malaga with a seating capacity of 7.500, the Estadio La Rosaleda football stadium enjoys a seating capacity in excess of 28,000 is where the 1982 FIFA World Cup was held.

Annual Cultural Events

Holy Week is commemorated in virtually all the cities and town of the country as it is a predominantly Christian country and it remains one of the festival attractions in Malaga. The other is the Annual Feria de Malaga or Malaga Fair held every August which transforms the streets into symbolic native culture and history while tapas and wines flow everywhere with live flamenco shoes in every district.

Visiting the Past

Museums anywhere house the countries stored past and Malaga is rich with historic and cultural artifacts dating back to the first century B.C. during the Roman conquest. With your chauffeured car hire, take a trip along Malaga’s boulevards and savor some of its museums housed in fastidious architectures that are in themselves a sight to behold.

There’s the Muse de Malaga at the Palacio de Aduana, the Museu Picasso Malaga at the Palacio de los Condes de Buenavista and the Fundacion Picasso, the artist’s birthplace museum, just to mention a few of the noteworthy ones.
